About the Artist

Han Lee captures moments that we have perhaps seen, but never pondered.

Born in Singapore of a Dutch merchant Joannus Wilhelmus Frederik de Boer and Jean Phaik Kim Leong, an interior designer and model, he was educated in London. He started an English Literature degree at Goldsmiths, University of London, but he already had a camera in his hand. It pulled him towards his future profession and he gained a degree in photography at Salisbury College of Art. A career would follow in portraiture and fashion. His work has been published in national newspapers, by the BBC, Britart and a plethora of magazines. The National Portrait Gallery has exhibited his photographs. Now his subjects are found along the way.

Han Lee is compelled to seek out the moment when the commonplace is somehow disrupted, revealing a strange beauty.
