Description
Ann Seaton, map sampler of England and Wales, 1790
A fiendishly challenging puzzle based upon a map sampler from The Fitzwilliam Museum’s collection. The creation of map samplers was a popular exercise in schools during the 1700s and 1800s as a means of combining the practise of simple embroidery stitches with the learning of geography. Follow in the footsteps of schoolgirl Ann Seaton and assemble the old counties of England and Wales.
The box size is 205mm x 335mm x 45mm.
The finished jigsaw is 510mm x 700mm.
